Winners of the 2019 Cornwall Farm Business Awards announced

The Cornwall Farm Business Awards went off with a bang last week at the Royal Cornwall Showground Pavilion. The awards ceremony raised just under £4,000 for the Addington Fund through the raffle and auction lots alone. This popular event, once again, was a total sell out and was enjoyed by all who attended.

2019 winners and sponsors

We cannot thank those enough who entered, nominated, supported, donated and took part in the Cornwall Farm Business Awards this year. From generous money donations to wonderful local food and produce donations, every little helps. As a result of such a successful event, we can now help many more farmers in need throughout Cornwall.

Many thanks to our main sponsors, Stephens Scown for their continuous support throughout the making of the awards and for doing such a great job in presenting the category winners on the night. A huge thank you to our category sponsors for their support and for investing so much time with judging and picking the lucky winners. We’d also like to thank you for believing in the importance of the Farm Business Awards and taking part in something so crucial: supporting our charity and supporting our British farmers.

This year, the Addington Fund added a surprise award into the mix and rewarded Mr Alan Goudge with an ‘Outstanding Contribution to Cornish Agriculture’ trophy. The reason? Mr Goudge started work at 13 years-old and, over 60 years later, he is still working full-time with the same farming family. If that isn’t an outstanding achievement, we don’t know what is!
